my good deed for the day

was eating a bowl of ben and jerrys ice cream chocolate fudge brownie.

"This flavor combines our great ice cream with chunks of chewy, fudgy brownies. These brownies are baked by Greyston Bakery, which provides employment & training to economically disadvantaged residents of Yonkers, NY. We are glad to have Greyston as a business partner because we get great tasting brownies and we also get to support the good work they do to create economic opportunities in their community."

Now see, by eating ben and jerry's instead of another brand, I am supporting them in supporting Greyston Bakery in providing employment & training to economically disadvantaged residents of Yonkers, NY. To me, that is a totally good deed.

Not to mention, Ben and Jerry's themselves they care about the cows, the children, and work towards eliminating the underlying causes of environmental and social problems. So, I like them and their ice cream.

Also, it was CHOCOLATE which means I am happy. My needs (for chocolate) are met, and so I am now better equipped to meet the needs of my family. Plus when Mommy is happy everyone is happy. Because I have a happy responded to family, I am better able to teach them, which prepares them to become better members of society in their future.

As you see, that bowl of ice cream very well plays a part in making the world a better place. But as you know, no good deed goes unpunished. I probably gained 2 pounds just looking at that bowl of ice cream.
